So I´m supposed to reflect on how much I have changed during freshman year.....hnnngh. I guess?.. I try to improve everything about myself. I always tell myself to stop procrastinating but that hasn't changed much. Even though I wait until the last minute, I get all my work done. (Most of the time) To be honest, I get into this funk that whenever something is frustrating me, I don´t want to work on it anymore. I don´t really do that anymore but if I´m REALLY overwhelmed with stuff, I just quit. Also I´m a really sensitive person. Whenever someone compliments me, I´m happy one moment and then I think that they didn´t mean it. Whenever I get feedback, I either use that feedback or ignore it. Most of the time I use the feedback to improve but I feel like I have to use it because people will tease me. Self-confidence issues am I right? Some people can be mean about their feedback. It isn´t helpful at all and they´ll mock what I did or say it in a terrible way. One person I used to be friends with would always tell me that my art was terrible but wouldn´t give me advice on how to improve or anything and when I would ask her to stop mocking me, she would say that I was being too sensitive. UGH I´m getting off-topic. But yeah. I´m trying to be less offended with feedback. I just wish people would be nicer and less harsh about it though. I always shut down whenever someone is too harsh...Now I get distracted a lot. I´m looking at you sketchbook. *Glares at sketchbook* I can´t help it. People can be boring or they´re just unapproachable. A group I worked with on a project one time were so mean and cold that I just did whatever and ignored them. I did my work though but when I had to show them, they weren´t happy. Well HELLO! They should´ve communicated with me but no they had to be mean. Whatever. I´m going to bring this to a close since it´s getting too long. I feel like i´ve changed a lot this year and i´m going to continue to improve. See ya!

We had to do a video about error detection for Computer Science class. We used a card trick that EVERYONE used for their error detection videos. Its the best trick though! I don´t really know what I should be writing about. I think I have to evaluate myself. I guess I did fine. I was confused because we originally had text compression and it was boring or something and my team switched the topic. I was in the video but I LOOKED HORRIBLE. I hate watching myself in a video. I always notice flaws XD
But anyway this was a fairly easy project. My teammates were nice and we got our video done in time. So I had to watch a movie in class called O' Brother, Where Art Thou? We had to watch it because the movie was based on the Odyssey, which we're researching for a project right now. The movie was really good and it was funny at times like when Pete thought that Delmar was turned into a toad. I recommend that you watch it in your own free time! There are plenty of references of the Odyssey in this movie. For example, the main characters met some women singing and hanging out by the river. They hang out with the women and then they wake up the next morning with their friend Delmar missing and a toad in his place. This is an obvious reference to the Sirens and also to Odysseus' crew getting turned into pigs. Another reference is when Everett comes across his wife where he finds out that she is engaged to someone else. This is similar to how Penelope had to choose a husband since Odysseus was thought to be missing. The only difference is that Penelope doesn't choose a husband and doesn't claim her husband was hit by a train. What's up with that?? I'd also like to say that I prefer Everett over Odysseus. I know that's a weird thing to say but Everett goes through some development in his character. He starts to care about his friends and becomes more honest. When Delmar is captured, Everett and Pete go get him back. Also when they are about to be hanged, Everett prays saying that he wants to see his daughters one last time. Tearjerker, am I right?? Odysseus does similar things to those but Everett had more character development. That's all I'd like to say about this movie. 7 out of 10. Good movie. Check it out. And just because you're mad at someone, it doesn't mean you should say they were hit by a train. Unless they were hit by a train! (The GIF above is from the show We Bare Bears. They made a reference to O' Brother in the show. I thought that was funny.)
Well,I think it's pretty obvious what I like to do. I like to (Wait, drum roll please).......DRAW!!! Yay. Anyway, I've been drawing for a long time now. In elementary school,I would doodle little cats on my schoolwork. Later, I drew fan art for books I read. Now I draw fan art for Rick and Morty and Bob's Burgers. I also draw my own characters I create. I like to draw because I get to listen to music and music usually gives me inspiration. I can't stop drawing for a long period of time or I get really tense and stressed out. I think i will keep doing this when I get older. It's something I enjoy and it can be relaxing (at times...) I want to get a job at Pixar so I can draw and design new characters like a concept or storyboard artist. I have an art blog where I have more art. Today I went to the Di Rosa museum for a field trip. This is my opinion BTW. I saw many things there. I saw some peacocks walking around there. Here are some art pieces I saw there that caught my eye. There are some things I wondered about, though. Like why is the bird tied up and how long did i take to make the nail heart one? This experience has enhanced my interpretation of art. Lots of the things I saw there were very expressive and complex. I was very inspired to enhance my art and make it more expressive like this one. I don't know why I added the wings. I thought it was a nice touch.
Epic Movie-Collaboration? Eh. We were just OK at it. But Here's What I Learned for Next Time.12/5/2016 Okay so I had to work with a couple of people to get the movie finished. Originally we took pictures instead of videos. When we found out, my teammates were irritated but we continued to try to finish the project. I had a argument with a boy who was in the same group. So it was awkward. We didn't really talk that much really. I listened to music and my other teammates talked to their friends. Then it was time for editing. Editing was hard. I originally did it at home but then I forgot it so I did it in class. It was hard finding good music. There were so many to choose from! Editing was hard. I separated the bloopers from the useful clips. THEN i had to put it all together. It was hard. My teammates barely talked to me. They weren't friendly but they weren't mean either. I just listened to music when we wandered around campus looking for good places to shoot. Hey, P!ATD is good music to listen to when you're wandering around with a girl carrying a camera in a wheelchair and two people pushing her....
So what I learned for next time is to talk to my teammates more and to ask questions. I felt antisocial when they didn't talk to me and I bet they felt antisocial because I didn't talk to them! I have to learn...... Flying Words Project-How to get to know your teammates on a new project and be successful12/5/2016 ![]() This project basically didn't have a group since the work was independent. But other projects, it's all collaborative. I'm gonna show you how to get to know your new teammates so your project is successful and your sanity stays intact. Ask Questions You have to get to know your teammates or you won't be able to communicate with them. Ask them what they would like to do in the next step in the project or with your group, say one thing that you think no one knows about you. (Thanks to Mr. and Ms. Wolf for that) If you need help exporting a file or saving a psd., ask your teammates. They know some things that you don't and vice versa. Stay Calm Sometimes your teammates may get off-task or you lose an important file. That sucks right? But it's important to not freak out. When you get stressed out, everyone around you picks up on that and they get stressed out as well. (Happened to me) Some things stress out your teammates that don't stress you out. Remember, everyone's different. Make sure to communicate with your teammates and ask them what their stressers are. (Did I say stressers right?) Be Nice This is a big one. You have to be nice to your teammates or you'll never get anything done. When you ask questions, don't be rude. Remember the golden rule....DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. Very dramatic I know.... Don't Slack Off This is another big one. You can't just goof off and let others do the work for you. Everone suffers if one person doesn't help. Never forget that. It applies to everything in life. Hopefullt that was helpful. Overall with this project it was fun. It was hard at times but I learned some things about exporting files and keypoints in a video. Wait...that's still tricky for me.... ![]() I lost the original Benchmark 3 which is why it looks weird. This is the STUPID data table. Sand temperatures (11-7-16 @ 10:50 am)- Sand - 20 degrees Sand with carbon dioxide- 20 degrees (11-9-16) Sand-25 Sand with carbon dioxide-25 (11-15-16) Sand-30 Sand with carbon dioxide-30 Carbon dioxide No Carbon Dioxide 20 degrees 20 degrees 25 degrees 25 degrees Yeah....So I'm supposed to find patterns. I notice that they always go up 5 degrees per day. I don't think this data table is very precise becaue we checked them on random days and there are a lot of errors like the times are missing and they were checked on random days. So yeah. There you have it. Benchmark 3. I was supposed to have a diagram but my camera sucks. I'll put it on eventually. So my hypothesis was that we could find the perfect temperature for sea turtles in a week. But we didn't.....we couldn't find the right temp and some data wasn't recorded. So unfortunetly scientific conclusions couldn't be made. The experiment failed. I did learn something fron the two standards which were ecosystems and population size. Some ecosystems change over time naturally and some population sizes decrease. Sorry that the experiment was a flop.
Well, sorry this is late. The original disappeared. My oceanography project ended but I needed to finish this. Standards are what you are your team have to focus on. Since we're focusing on sea turtles and temperature, we are focusing on ecosystems and population size. We are doing an experiment where we are heating up sand from the river and seeingif the temperature is safe enough for the sea turtles so their sex doesn't change. There are less males than females so that affects the sea turtle population since you need a male to help the female to make babies. You know what I mean. This supports why we are focusing on population size. Now, we are focusing on ecosystems because climate change from global warming causes the temperatures to rise and the sand gets hotter thus changing the premature sea turtles' sex. In the link below, You can see a simulation that explains this. Hopefully this is helpful for you.
